The objective of the interreg program is to implement cross-border, interdisciplinary projects with and for the stakeholders of the territory.
Since 1989, the European Union has offered INTERREG funding programs. It is in the interest of these programs to finance territorial cross-border projects, supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). There are currently more than 100 INTERREG programs in the European Union.
The INTERREG program on the Upper Rhine, at the interface between France, Germany and Switzerland, is already the fifth of its kind. In the funding period 2014 and 2020, the program has an overall funding budget of nearly 110 million euros.
The projects, co-financed by the INTERREG Upper Rhine program, cover a wide range of topics and correspond to a specific strategy for this area. Further information can be found on the website of the INTERREG V Upper Rhine program (only in German and French).
